The BICT will demonstrate 沟通 through responsive 和 responsible collaboration, 收集信息, 识别风险, 和 intervening when appropriate to protect people from harming themselves or others. The Behavioral Intervention Care Team uses a proactive approach that balances the needs of the student who may be in crisis 和 the overall safety of the campus community.

VC的行为 & Intervention Care Team helps keep our community healthy 和 safe. You are an important member of the team. Your reports allow the team to reach out to individuals 和 provide appropriate 干预 和 support. 在你的帮助下, the team is better able to keep the campus a safe environment in which students, 教师 和 staff may live, 学习和工作.

Do not ignore comments about suicide, violence, or harm to self or others. If you have safety concerns or need immediate assistance, contact the Campus Police Department at 9-1-1 or 805-437-8444.
Our focus is supporting staff 和 教师 with concerns for students who may be in distress. We coordinate resources 和 implement a centralized response, with the goals of providing assistance to the individual 和 keeping our community healthy 和 safe.
什么是BICT团队?
一个行为 & 干预 care team (BICT) is a multi-disciplinary group whose purpose is meeting regularly to support its target audience (students, 员工, 教师, staff) via an established protocol. The team tracks reported student concerns over time, 检测模式, 趋势, 和 disturbances in individual or group behavior.
The team receives reports of disruptive, 有问题的, or concerning behavior or misconduct (from co-workers, 社区成员, 朋友, 的同事们, 等), conducts an investigation, performs a threat assessment, 和 determines the best mechanisms for support, 干预, 警告/通知, 和响应. The team then deploys its resources, 和 the resources of the community, 和 coordinates follow-up.
The BICT Team approach is a proactive way to address the growing need in the college 和 university community for a centralized, 协调, 有爱心的, developmental 干预 for those in need, 危机前.
